Originally created by Kim MinHye and SeoYun, “Vampire Chef” tells the story of a charming vampire named Hong KiJoon who owns a successful yet shady restaurant in Itaewon and is the resident Masterchef at the same. He is also the only employee at the restaurant, no matter how big the crowd gets. KiJoon has been in this business for quite a while and has built up quite the reputation for himself. In addition, he offers preferential treatment for 30-year-old women in particular and is evidently, quite the flirt! However, his worldly success doesn’t change the fact that he is as bloodthirsty as ever, especially for a certain someone. Luckily for him, his “first bite” Kang MiRo stumbles into his restaurant and ends up getting inescapably involved with him. KiJoon remembers his first time drinking Kang MiRo’s blood as being sweet and irresistible but something about her has changed - her blood is no longer to his liking! What ensues is KiJoon’s quest to feed MiRo all the delicacies of the world and restore her blood to its original taste! At the time of writing, actress Cho YiHyun is reported to be playing the role of Kang MiRo. No actor has been revealed to be cast in the role of Hong KiJoon, as of yet. With that in mind, we picked 5 actors/idols who we think would be perfect for the role of Hong KiJoon in “Vampire Chef”: Lomon, ASTRO’s MoonBin, Seo InGuk, MONSTA X’s HyungWon, and Kim Bum. Lomon showed excellent synergy and chemistry with Cho YiHyun in the Netflix blockbuster series “All Of Us Are Dead”. In addition, his charms are wonderfully suited to the role of KiJoon. ASTRO’s MoonBin has an ethereal and otherworldly air to him that renders him a perfect match for the role of Hong KiJoon. His recent comeback as a subunit with Yoon SanHa with a dark concept further solidifies our point. MoonBin would make for an iconic vampire. Seo InGuk’s broody gaze can hypnotize and his mischievous smile can make worlds collide. If that doesn’t scream “hot vampire”, we don’t know what does! Seeing Seo InGuk as a vampire AND a chef is just a dream come true! MONSTA X’s HyungWon has long been known for his vampire-esque visuals, especially with his broad physique and godly features. It is very easy to picture him as the alluring yet cautious Hong KiJoon. Finally, we couldn’t possibly have concluded this list without the resident “good bad boy” of supernatural K-Dramas: Kim Bum. With his endearing charm and bewitching ways, Kim Bum could put a spell on you and you’d say thank you. “Vampire Chef” would be the perfect project for Kim Bum. Vote for your pick in our poll below! Note: The aim of the vote is for Kpopmap readers to share their opinion about their preference for the cast. It is not affecting the cast of the production team.
