Shedding away every form of typeset and assumption about their styles, with their various performances (of their original songs or dance covers), they continue to leave viewers in awe and calling for more appreciation for the criminally underrated group. As they gear up for a new comeback, with their 4th mini album “ODYSSEY : DaSH” which is set to be released on the 17th of August 2022, we excitedly spotlight some of their stage performances that brilliantly capture their talents and one that would leave you in anticipation of what they have in store for their future.
1. ‘Crush On You’
A debut with an impact, BAE173 first piqued the interest of fans with their debut trailers, showing off their unique colors and handsome visuals, many were interested to see what kind of talents they had in store. Clearly, hearts were left in amazement and sheer satisfaction with their debut album “Intersection : Spark” and its title track ‘Crush On You’. This song is simply refreshing. Its preppy school boy concept shows off BAE173 as young energetic boys who are about to step into the real world. These particular stage performances brilliantly capture their concept as a group with a youthful exuberance. From the uniform outfits, their cheery facial expressions, live vocals, and the choreography, they keep our attention throughout the performance as we can’t help but cheer along and excitedly wait to see what they do next.
2. ‘Loved You’
The nostalgic vibe that this song exuded already made it so special. Clearly influenced by the style of the older generation and mixing it with the trendy vibe of this generation, BAE173 served as a medium between the old and new. Many fans would simply draw a deep sense of familiarity and pleasure while listening to this song. With their melodious vocals, its sweetly tuned intonations, and its cheery anthem-like chorus, this song had an infectious feel to it and it is easily one you can listen to on repeat as it gives off such a happy feel. The performances of this song were just as we’d expect from BAE173. Even though they were still relatively rookies, with their debut performances, they had shown a level of skill that made many begin to look towards them for an exciting performance. Truly incredible and brilliant. The level of synchronization displayed on this stage was remarkable and thrilling to watch. And when you considered the intensity of the choreography, it makes you realize the number of times they must have practiced this in order to move at the exact same speed and level as the next member.
3. ‘I Can’t Sleep’
With this performance, BAE173 simply showed off their expertise as a versatile and dynamic group. They can fit into any concept and still hold your minds in a state of bliss and awe. This performance showed that they do not need to always deliver their fast-paced and hard-core choreography to leave their viewers/audience in marvel of their talents. A mic and a stage are simply enough to do this. With their soft and sweetly tuned vocals, this song and performance is one you can enjoy watching on a loop.
4. ‘JAWS’
“Are you ready for it?” Perhaps this question is fitting as it serves as a prompt before the spectacle you’re about to watch. Filled with so much energy and vibrance, this stage performance for ‘JAWS’ was simply incredible to watch. The stability in their live vocals was remarkable, especially with the fiercely fast-paced choreography this song has. Clean, sharp, powerful, and not a step out of beat, the delivery of this choreography was such a delight to watch. One thing about BAE173 that continues to excite fans and is clearly present with all their comebacks so far, is their consistency, “consistency in excelling”. Each comeback as we have seen, there have been noticeable improvements either in their vocals, raps, choreography, concept, or performances. This is a clear testament to their hard work and commitment to not just themselves, individually or as a group but to ELSE too, who patiently root for them. Watching their preparations for each comeback, you see a level of creativity, thoughtfulness, and care that is being imbibed into their craft. Each member is hands-on and contributes vibrantly, and perhaps, this is one of the reasons why they are a well-gelled team. The notable changes they made to this particular stage performance were truly refreshing to watch and speak to their professionalism. The intensity of this performance, just watching alone, would leave you out of breath and in awe of their stamina and core strength, as yet again, they perform with live vocals.
5. ‘Not Alone’
Perhaps one of (or the only reaction) you’d have to watch this stage performance is a broad smile on your face. Filled with some goofiness and adorable antics, and accompanied by their great vocals, this stage performance could either serve as the serotonin boost of energy your body craves or the soothing comfort to your heart. Either way, there is a sheer joy and warmth that can be derived from watching this stage performance as the members themselves, exuded such a happy glow that transmits to the minds of the viewers.

‘I NEED YOU’
BAE173 revealed they do not just excel on stage with their own songs but others too. Ordinarily, this song is seen as difficult to perform and only BTS has done it perfect justice but BAE173 comes very close as they did a brilliant job on this stage. Perfectly embodying the feeling of this song, the then rookie group left everyone excited and with high expectations of what they had to come. Even then, their talents were already unmistakably present. The amazing stability in their live vocals while delivering the fast-paced choreography of this song was simply applaudable. Yet again, their cohesion as a group is evident as they do not just sing but move in harmony. Adding their unique colors and modifying the performance to fit their style, the dance break was one of the key highlights of this performance as it showed off their versatile styles as performers

When we speak to their ability to excel in any concept and showcase their versatile repertoire of dance moves, perhaps this cover performance would be the visual representation of those statements. Flawlessly delivering the choreography to various hit K-Pop songs from artists like NCT 127, aespa, ITZY, TWICE, BTS, TXT, and their own song, with less than a minute for each performance, they were simply captivating and left us wanting more.
