Here are the top 10 K-Pop comebacks we’re waiting for in 2022!
1. BTS
Back in December of 2021, BigHit Music announced that BTS will be on vacation for the holidays but are working hard for their album, which will be coming soon. Not only is this an exciting piece of news but also something that the global music world and fans alike have been waiting eagerly for. While details about this album have not been revealed yet, we cannot help but feel giddy at the thought of a new BTS album.
2. EXO
EXO members SuHo, ChanYeol, and Chen will be getting discharged from the military in 2022. SuHo gets discharged on Feb 13, 2022, ChanYeol on Sep 28, 2022 and Chen on Apr 25, 2022. Now, regardless of whether we get solo comebacks or a group comeback, we’re equally excited to see them take over the music charts once again, breaking records left and right.
3. ZICO
We’ve been starved of ZICO’s music for way too long and now that he is finally getting discharged from the military on Apr 29, 2022, we cannot wait for the absolute bops that he will drop (when he feels ready to, of course).
4. SunMi
SunMi gave us a revolutionary mini-album “1/6” in 2021, exploring genres and musical styles that we’ve never heard from the artist before. We can only imagine the creative masterpiece she is cooking up now, knowing how she always outdoes herself.
5. GOT7
GOT7 in K-Pop is the very definition of resilience, originality, and strength in unity. Needless to say, their music makes a difference in the world both on a personal and a universal level. We cannot wait for GOT7 to make a comeback, hopefully in 2022.
6. BIGBANG
V.I.P has to be one of the most patient and respectful fandoms in the world of K-Pop because they’ve been indefinitely waiting for the members to feel ready enough to make a comeback. We can only hope that BIGBANG grants this wish in 2022 because the industry, the world, needs BIGBANG.
7. NU’EST
One of the most polished, perfect and prominent K-Pop groups of all time, NU’EST is a force to be reckoned with. They dominated 2021 with their 2nd studio album “Romanticize”, which pretty much established the group’s sound as a genre in and of itself. We’re wholeheartedly waiting for them to make a comeback in 2022.
8. BLACKPINK’s Jennie
2021 was the year of BLACKPINK. From the Japanese version of “The Album” to solo projects from Rosé and Lisa, JiSoo’s “Snowdrop”, Rosé at the MET gala, and more, the girls were simply invincible. In 2022, we’re praying for Jennie to return and shake up the industry with her music once again.
9. WonHo
WonHo has given us everything in 2021 and we couldn’t be more grateful but it also makes us even more excited to see what he could have in store for us next. WonHo’s comeback is easily one of the most highly anticipated comebacks of 2022.
10. Red Velvet
Red Velvet’s latest comeback in 2021 with “Queendom” left us craving for more. Fortunately for REVELUV, Red Velvet has already announced their first Japanese studio album “Bloom” and we couldn’t be more excited! Which K-Pop comeback are you waiting for?
